HI-Los Angeles Santa Monica Goes Hollywood
On November 16th, HI-LA/Santa Monica celebrated the end of the season by throwing a Hollywood themed awards show for the employees. We were celebrating the end of the “Appreciation Program” that everyone participated in throughout the year. The staff honored their co-workers and managers by writing a”shout out” each time they observed or experienced an “above and beyond” act. The employee receiving the shout out received redeemable tokens that sported a thumbs up with the words “great job!”.
The top three employees who earned the most tokens received an award. Irene Gutierrez , the Operations and Group Sales Manager, received the “Super Star” award, Bayeli Vasquez, the Maintenance Manager, received the “Star Player” award and Robert Coleman, one of the front desk agents, received the “Making a Difference” award. The housekeeping department received an award for being the catalyst for us receiving the Hostelling International 2010 Best Quality Standards score for a High Volume Hostel. All of the other employees walked away with star trophies because that’s what each of us are in our own way!
