Hostelling Legacy Society

The Hostelling Legacy Society is an honorary club recognizing individuals who have informed Hostelling International (HI-USA) that they have included HI-USA in their estate plans through bequests, life income gifts, insurance policies and other estate planning vehicles.

Hostelling supporters who are making legacies to HI-USA are able to fulfill their philanthropic goals by helping HI-USA develop hostels and cross-cultural programs, increase its endowment and provide for ongoing operating needs.

Members of the Hostelling Legacy Society share a strong common bond of generosity and visionary leadership, nourishing HI-USA’s continued success. We welcome the opportunity to recognize those who are helping to make the future possible.

Benefits of Membership

The greatest benefit of belonging to the Hostelling Legacy Society is the satisfaction of knowing that your long-range plans will enable hostelling to grow and serve more people in the future. As a member, you will also receive these special benefits:

• A specially designed lapel pin;
• Recognition in the Hostelling Legacy Society’s membership roster in our Annual Report and on our website (only with your permission);
• Complimentary invitations to HI-USA’s special events.

Joining the Legacy Society

You are welcomed to the society when you indicate that you have made an estate gift to HI-USA. Some gifts that qualify you for membership are:

• Making a bequest in a will or trust;
• Naming HI-USA as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy;
• Creating a life income gift that will ultimately benefit HI-USA;
• Naming HI-USA as a beneficiary of an IRA or other retirement plan;
• Naming HI-USA as a beneficiary of a savings account;
• Other gifts may qualify as well.

We can provide sample bequest language for inclusion in your will or trust, or otherwise assist you with a plan that meets your philanthropic and financial goals.
