HI-Baltimore hostel is located in the heart of downtown Baltimore City. Nestled between the Washington Monument and the Inner Harbor just off of Charles Street; the hostel is within walking distance to everything Baltimore City has to offer. Explore the world famous Lexington Market, walk along the water and discover the neighborhoods of the Inner Harbor, Harbor East, and Fells Point. Spend the day relaxing in the parks surrounding the Washington Monument or take a short trip to the rolling hills of Patterson Park. If it’s the wild that you are after, visit the National Aquarium and the Maryland Zoo. For sports activities, Camden Yards and Raven’s Stadium are a quick 10 minute walk from the hostel, just on the other side of the Convention Center. And don’t forget Washington DC is just a short 50 minute train ride away!
HI-Baltimore hostel is part of the long and rich history Baltimore City has to offer. The hostel is located in an 1857 mansion across the street from America's First Cathedral – the Baltimore Basilica. We are proud to announce that the hostel now offers 49 beds with the addition of our newly completed 3 bed dorm and double bed private room located on our quiet and cozy lower floor. Our larger dormitory style rooms (12, 8, and 4 bed dorms) have a bathroom located in the room with the smaller dorm and private sharing a hall bath. We provide the sheets, towels, and blankets. Small lockers are available for use (bring your own padlock). Free pancake breakfast is available daily at the hostel. Plus Free WiFi. We have a large quiet common room, dining room, full use kitchen, back deck and lower patio, laundry facilities, and a TV room with cable television and movies.
Be sure to check the hostel for the free weekly events including pub crawls, movie nights, city tours, meal nights featuring make your own pizza - tacos - and all you can eat pasta, as well as monthly poetry events - art openings - and a local writer series called Last Rites Baltimore.
If you haven't been to Baltimore you don't know what you are missing! At half the price of other east coast cities you can do a lot more in Baltimore than you can imagine. The hostel is walking distance to the Inner Harbor, Sport Stadiums, Convention Center, and the Mount Vernon and City Center Neighborhoods. We are surrounded by pubs, bars, nightclubs, and restaurants including Mick O'Sheas Irish Pub, the Yacht Club, Sonar Nightclub, the Talking Head Club, Bourbon Street, and a wide variety of restaurants. There is a grocery store one block from the hostel to buy food to cook your own meals. If you want to go bar hopping be sure to venture to Federal Hill around the Cross Street Market or Fells Point along Thames Street. Should you be after local art, music, and the hipster crowd you don't want to miss Station North with Club Charles, the Hexagon, the WindUp Space, Metro Gallery, and the Charles Theater for independent movies. And you certainly don't want to miss Brewers Art where they brew their own very potent beer - and better yet - by staying at the hostel you receive happy hour pricing at all times by presenting your receipt!
